The Lincoln Land women’s basketball team played host to the Blackhawks of Southeastern Iowa Community College at Cass Gym on Saturday. The Loggers won decisively 74-37.
Lincoln Land jumped to an early lead and held a 19-7 first quarter advantage. The second quarter was much of the same as the Loggers took a 38-12 lead into halftime behind Marley Smiths 14 first half points. Southeastern started the second half on a 9-0 run forcing a Logger timeout. After the time out, the Loggers went on a 10-0 run of their own.
Every Logger saw action in the contest today. Avrie Schmidt led Lincoln Land with 17 points. Marley Smith scored 16, Sam Lindhorst 11, and Megan Harrell chipped in 10, respectively. Whitney Rumbold and Marley Smith led the Loggers with 8 rebounds each, while Avrie Schmidt pulled down 7.
Lincoln Land improves to 6-1 on the season and will play host to undefeated Jefferson College on Wednesday night at 5:30 pm.
