LLCC vs NEO
The Loggers headed to Overland Park, Kansas for a Tri Match with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Johnson County Community College on Saturday.
The Land faced NEO in first match of the day sweeping in straight sets. Abby Bell led in hitting percentage with .667. Kenna Bixby and Lily Little distributed a balanced offense with a combined 26 assists (Bixby 21) (Little 5).
Hannah Clayton once again dominated from the service line, going on a run of 18 points in the first set, including 4 aces. Olivia Torricelli got the start as Libero for the Loggers, chipping in 6 digs. Final set scores included 25-10, 25-13, 25-12.
LLCC vs JCCC
In the 4:00 pm match, Lincoln Land faced Johnson County Community College, the host school. The Loggers Recorded their first loss of the season to No. 4 ranked JCCC in straight sets. The Loggers didn’t give up as they improved each set in points. Set scores included 17-25, 18-25, 22-25.
Sophomore setter Kenna Bixby led the offense and defended well with a 26 assists and 12 digs. Sydney McTaggart started as Libero against JCCC tallying 11 digs. Freshman Middle Blocker Hailee Belsher had 8 kills on 13 attempts producing a .538 hitting percentage. Freshman Pin Hitters Mckenna Blackwell and Peyton Bergschneider both notched 9 kills each.
The Loggers look ahead to next week, playing at home this Wednesday against Spoon River College at 6:00 pm.
