The Gillespie Miners scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning after the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans tied the game in the bottom of the seventh and had the winning, walk off run thrown out at the plate in a wild play. Gillespie wins 7-2 over Maroa-Forsyth on Wednesday evening to advance to the 2A Lincoln Land (Pleasant Plains) sectional championship, the Miners will play Quincy Notre Dame at 11 am for the title.
