LLCC vs Spoon River Game 1:
The Lincoln Land Loggers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-4 loss to Spoon River College on Monday. The Spoon River Snappers scored on a double by Emily Meloche, a single by Raivyn Millions, and a triple by K. Morton in the first inning. The Loggers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Spoon River, giving up 12 runs. The Snappers scored three runs in the fifth inning, led by the big bats of Kylie Simmons and Malia Bender, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Allyson Harrold led the Snappers to victory on the rubber. The fireballer went four innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out three. L. Vandeveorde threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Bailey Teasley took the loss for Lincoln Land. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing nine hits and nine runs while striking out three and walking one. Spoon River socked two home runs on the day. Simmons had a homer in the fifth inning. Meloche had a dinger in the second inning. Alivia Hemberger, Nyla Cooper, Lydia Bender, Addison Cline, Mady Wear, and Haley Willan each managed one hit to lead the Loggers. Spoon River racked up 14 hits. Brynna Seitz, Brooke Hampton, and Meloche each racked up multiple hits for the Snappers Seitz led Spoon River Snappers Varsity Snappers Varsity with four hits in four at bats.
LLCC vs Spoon River Game 2:
A walk-off left the Loggers on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to Spoon River on Monday. The game was tied at eight with the Snappers batting in the bottom of the seventh when K. Morton hit a solo homer. Haley Willan drove in four runners in the loss. Willan drove in runs on a single in the first, a groundout in the third, a single in the fourth, and a single in the sixth. Lincoln Land got on the board in the first inning. Willan singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Spoon River knotted the game up at eight in the bottom of the sixth inning, when Lynna Fischer grounded out, scoring one run.
Lincoln Land notched three runs in the fourth inning. The Loggers batters contributing to the big inning included Mady Wear, Alivia Hemberger, and Willan, all driving in runs in the frame. The Snappers scored three runs in the fifth inning, batters contributing to the big inning included Fischer and Raivyn Millions, who all drove in runs. Lauren Sinks was the winning pitcher for the Snappers. The pitcher went four and a third innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking zero. Maranda File took the loss for the Loggers. The righthander went two innings, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one. Karley Moore started the game for the Loggers. Moore lasted four and a third innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out five and walking zero
Lincoln Land tallied one home run on the day. File had a long ball in the third inning. The Loggers collected 12 hits on the day. Willan, Wear, and Sidney Glick each collected multiple hits for the Loggers. Wear and Willan each collected three hits to lead Lincoln Land. Spoon River totaled 11 hits in the game. Morton, Brooke Hampton, Millions, and Fischer all collected multiple hits for the Snappers, Morton went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team.
