The pitching was strong on both sides. The Loggers pitchers struck out seven, while ICC pitchers sat down nine. One bright spot for Illinois Central was a double by Beau Durbin in the sixth inning. Brannan Kraft led the Loggers to victory on the mound. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out five and walking one. Antrim threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Carson Johnson took the loss for Illinois Central. The bulldog went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out eight and walking one.The Loggers collected eight hits on the day. Trent Koehler, Hunter Moser, and Drew Ezard all had multiple hits for Loggers. Ezard, Moser, and Koehler each collected two hits to lead the Loggers. Durbin led Illinois Central with one hit in three at bats.LLCC vs ICC Game 2:Loggers cruised to an easy victory over Illinois Central College 12-3 on Saturday. The Loggers fired up the offense in the first inning. Drew Ezard’s sac fly scored one run for the Loggers. The Loggers tallied four runs in the eighth inning. The Loggers big bats were led by Will Rohlk, Luke Kracik, Chase Jetel, and Wandel Campana, all driving in runs in the frame.
Evan Herpsteith earned the victory on the mound for Lincoln Land. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out four. Zane Danielson, Porter Conn, and Keleb Rogers all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Ian McGhiey toed the rubber for Illinois Central College. McGhiey allowed six hits and four runs over two innings, striking out two. Jake Jacek, Aiden Leemans, and Kaiser Quick each contributed in relief for ICC. The Loggers totaled 13 hits. Grant Pohlman, Rohlk, and Hunter Moser each had multiple hits for Lincoln Land. Rohlk and Pohlman each collected three hits to lead the Loggers.
Matt Evans went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead ICC in hits. Illinois Central didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jackson Powell had the most chances in the field with nine.
