Scoreless through five innings, the Illinois Central College Cougars scored first and held on in the ninth for a 5-4 win in MWAC action. The Loggers had the bases loaded but Gavin Thompson picked up the strikeout to end the game.
The Loggers won game two by a score of 3-1, will travel to Peoria for a doubleheader on Saturday.
