LLCC: Loggers Softball Fall to Danville at Home

LLCC vs Danville Game 1:
Lincoln Land fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-8 loss to the Danville Jaguars on Monday. Danville Jaguars scored on a single by Ashlynn McPeak, a double by Kelsey Martlage, and a single by Hayden Smith in the second inning. Despite the loss, Lincoln Land did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Danville had 16 hits on the way to victory. After Danville scored three runs in the top of the third, Lincoln Land answered with three of their own.  Danville scored when McPeak doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Martlage singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Hayden Smith drew a walk, scoring one run.  Lincoln Land then answered when Rylee Richey induced Mady Wear to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Haley Willan’s sac fly scored one run for Lincoln Land Loggers, and Molly Hughes singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Danville pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.  In the second McPeak singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Martlage doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Hayden Smith singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Richey pitched the Jaguars to victory. The bulldog allowed six hits and six runs over five innings, striking out five.  Raven Morrison threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Karley Moore took the loss for the Loggers. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing 11 hits and eight runs while striking out two. Lincoln Land tallied eight hits. Willan, Maranda File, and Sidney Glick each managed multiple hits for Lincoln Land. Glick, File, and Willan each collected two hits to lead the Loggers. The Jaguars collected 16 hits on the day.  Martlage, McPeak, Ali Grenzebach, and Hayden Smith all managed multiple hits for Danville.  Martlage went 4-for-7 at the plate to lead Danville in hits. LLCC vs Danville Game 2:The Danville Jaguars got things started in the first inning when Ali Grenzebach singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Lincoln Land knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the third inning, when Andee Brown singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. The Jaguars pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth an error scored one run for Danville Jaguars and Ashlynn McTagertt grounded out, scoring one run. Kyleigh Weller got the win for Danville. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three and walking one. MaKenzee Legg threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. 
Bailey Teasley took the loss for the Loggers. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and five runs while striking out two and walking one. Addison Cline led Lincoln Land with two hits in three at bats. Danville Jaguars totaled ten hits in the game.  Hayden Smith, Ashlynn McPeak, and Grenzebach each had multiple hits for Danville Jaguars. Hayden Smith went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Danville Jaguars in hits.
