The University of Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars hosted Quincy in a doubleheader on Saturday. In game one, UIS picked up a 9-3 victory. Lanphier graduate Chad Saner got the win on the mound. He threw six innings, allowing three runs and striking out nine. Asher Bradd had four hits for UIS while Brandon Bannon drove in three runs. The Prairie Stars and Hawks are back in action on Sunday at noon at UIS for another doubleheader.
