LLCC vs Lewis & Clark Game 1:
Loggers defeated Lewis and Clark 7-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Griffin Neuweg struck out Jonny Foti to finish off the game. The Loggers got on the board in the first inning when Drew Ezard doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. Lincoln Land tallied three runs in the third inning. Ezard and Austin Adcock all drove in runs in the frame. One bright spot for Lewis and Clark was a single by Gavin Lyday in the second inning.
Adam Lindsey earned the victory on the hill for the Loggers. The righty went six innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out five and walking one. Neuweg threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Calan Kujawa took the loss for Lewis and Clark. The hurler allowed six hits and six runs over three innings, striking out four. The Loggers tallied one home run on the day. Adcock had a homer in the third inning. Ezard led Lincoln Land with two hits in three at bats. The Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Will Rohlk had the most chances in the field with eight. Austin Martin went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lewis and Clark.
LLCC vs Lewis & Clark Game 2:
The Loggers lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat to Lewis and Clark on Monday. Lewis and Clark was down 2-1 in the top of the eighth inning when Gavin Huebner singled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs. In the second inning, the Loggers got their offense started. Adam Passmore singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Drew Watts was credited with the victory for Lewis and Clark. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one. Jackson Parrill threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Brannan Kraft led things off on the mound for Lincoln Land. Kraft lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four. Logan Antrim and Sergio Marchizza entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively. Jaxson Grubbs started the game for Lewis and Clark. The bulldog went three innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out five Grant Pohlman led the Loggers with two hits in four at bats. Lincoln Land didn’t commit a single error in the field. Caleb Royer had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
