Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Jenna Bowman (Lincoln Girls Basketball) The Railers wrapped up a historic season with a second place finish in 3A on Saturday. In the state semifinal on Friday, Bowman set a new school record for three pointers in a single season. She needed one for the record entering the weekend and picked up two, setting the record at 74 threes in a season. Highlights of the semifinal game HERE and championship HERE.

Jveon Bardwell (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) A career high for Bardwell helped propel the Cyclones to a sectional title on Friday night against MacArthur. With two other starters in foul trouble throughout the game Bardwell stepped up and scored 20 points as SHG picked up the 75-62 victory. They will play East St Louis in a super sectional on Monday at the BOS Center. Highlights of Jveon’s performance and the SHG victory HERE.

Kloe Froebe (Lincoln Girls Basketball) She has broken so many record this year it’s hard to keep track of them all. On the way to the Railers second place finish at state Froebe set some state tournament records. On Friday, in the semifinal, she scored 45 points for a record of most points in a single state finals game. Her 19 points on Saturday put her at 64 total points for the weekend, which is a 3A state finals record. Froebe also surpassed the thousand point make for the season in the semifinal game. Chase Cunningham (MacArthur Boys Basketball) The Generals season came to an end on Friday night but despite the loss Cunningham had a career night. Against Sacred Heart Griffin, he scored 28 points in his final high school game which is a career high. MacArthur finished an exciting season with a record for 28-5 with a Collinsville Holiday Tournament championship and a regional title. See the highlights of that career high performance HERE.

KeShon Singleton (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) Singleton had a big night on Wednesday to help send the Cyclones to the sectional title game. He scored a career high 31 points against Normal West in a 80-57 victory in the sectional semifinal at MacArthur. Cyclones take on East St Louis for a trip to the state finals on Monday. Connor Brown (Calvary Boys Basketball) The Saints had two big sectional games last week with a victory over Madison in the semifinal on Wednesday before they unfortunately fell in overtime to Gibault Catholic on Friday. In the 49-48 victory on Wednesday, it was Brown who hit a free throw late to give the Saints the lead. He also had a team high 15 points in that semifinal victory. On Friday, Brown tied the game at 54 to force overtime. He had 12 points in that game. Highlights of the semifinal victory HERE and the sectional title game HERE.

Teagan Morley (Pleasant Plains Girls Track and Field) The Cardinals headed over to Jacksonville for the Rushville-Industry Invitational indoor track meet at Illinois College on Saturday. Morley picked up two individual wins in the 55 meter (7.83) and pole vault (9′ 8.25″). She was also a part of the winning 4×400 relay (4:19.7) and the second place 4×200 relay (1:56.41).

Avery Glasgow (Williamsville Boys Track and Field) The Bullets were also at Illinois College for the Rushville-Industry Invitational on Saturday. Glasgow won the individual 1600 meter (4:50.37). He also helped lead the 4×800 team to a victory (8:29.12) and a second place finish in the 4×400 (3:42.95).

Katelyn Lehnen (Glenwood Girls Track and Field) Lehnen is back on the track for the season and picking up wins. The Titan sophomore won the 200 meter at the Mt Zion Girls Indoor Invitational last Wednesday and set a school record with a time of 25.35 seconds in the indoor 200 meter. On Friday at the Jacksonville Indoor Invite, she reset that record with a time of 25.14 seconds. She also won the 55 meter on Friday with a time of 7.14 seconds.

Mason Kooi (Lutheran High Boys Track and Field) Kooi won a state title in the high jump and triple jump last May and he is off to a good start this season. At the SIU High School Boys Indoor Invite he took first in the high jump (6′ 10.75″) and the triple jump (42′ 3.75″). The win in high jump also broke his own school record which he set last year.
