LLCC: Women’s Basketball Fall to Danville in Final Regular Season Match Up

The final regular season game of the year didn’t go as planned for the Lincoln Land women’s basketball team. The Loggers were beat on the road by Danville Area 77-70.Lincoln Land had a nice start to the game. The Loggers jumped out to a 20-15 first quarter lead over the Jaguars. The second period saw Lincoln Land struggle offensively which allowed Danville to outscore the Loggers 17-11 for a 32-31 halftime advantage.Turnovers were a problem for Lincoln Land early in the third period. Once again, this plagued the Loggers which led to Danville taking a 53-48 lead entering final frame. Lincoln Land had their best scoring quarter in the fourth with 22 points. This led to the Loggers tying the score midway through the final quarter. Unfortunately , Danville was able was counter with 24 points in the period to hold onto the 77-70 win.
Freshman Marley Smith led the Loggers with a double/double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. Addison Scarlette finished with 20 points and Kirsten Taylor had 16.
 
Lincoln Land finishes the regular season 19-10.
