LLCC: Loggers Split on Day Two of SWIC Tourney

 

LLCC vs St. Charles Community College:
The Loggers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-3 loss to the St. Charles Cougars on Sunday. St. Charles took the lead on a home run in the second inning. St. Charles got on the board in the second inning. Ethan Edinger homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.Kaden Jacobi was on the pitcher’s mound for St. Charles. Jacobi surrendered one run on five hits over four innings, striking out five and walking zero.Brannan Kraft was on the mound for the Loggers. The righthander allowed seven hits and five runs over four innings, striking out five and walking zero. Evan Herpsteith and Drew Lenz entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.St. Charles launched two home runs on the day. Edinger had a dinger in the second inning. Justin Massingale went for the long ball in the fifth inning.Austin Adcock went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Loggers in hits.St. Charles Community College tallied 11 hits in the game. Edinger, Massingale, and Josh Cunniff each had multiple hits for St. Charles. Edinger led St. Charles with three hits in three at bats.LLCC vs Jefferson College:The Loggers snagged a late lead and defeated Jefferson College 8-3 on Sunday. The Loggers trailed 3-2 in the top of the fifth inning when Drew Ezard homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.
Jefferson College fired up the offense in the first inning, when Matousek, Jack singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Adam Lindsey was on the pitcher’s mound for the Loggers. The righty went two innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out four.
Hughes, Jared was on the hill for Jefferson College. The bulldog allowed one hit and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Jarvis, Jacob and Catto, Griffin entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one and one-third innings respectively.
The Loggers socked one home run on the day.
