Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Maddox Gerger (Glenwood Boys Soccer) Titans will get to play at home this week as they host a 2A sectional after winning the 2A Meridian Regional. Glenwood scored seven goals in the victory over Jacksonville in which Gerger had multiple goals. Check them out HERE.

Elijah Owens (Jacksonville Football) Have yourself a night Elijah! The Indiana State commit put up some crazy stats on Friday. He threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 160 yards and five touchdowns and also had one reception for a 42 yard touchdown. Owens and the Crimsons will travel to Metamora for a round one playoff game on Saturday.

Mac Gibbs (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Swimming) SHG won the girls City meet on Tuesday night at Eisenhower Pool. The freshman won back-to-back events with the 200 individual medley (2:24.37) and the 50 freestyle (25.45). She was also a part of two winning relays. See the highlights of the girls City meet HERE.

Sydney McAfee (Pleasant Plains Volleyball) The Cardinals picked up two big wins before the postseason gets started this week. Against Rochester on Monday she had a match high 20 kills and nine digs in the three set victory. Wednesday against Lutheran, McAfee had a team high 17 digs plus eight kills and two aces in the 25-23, 25-21 win. See the highlights against Rochester HERE and Lutheran HERE.

Kaiden Maurer (Maroa Forsyth Football) The Trojans are Sangamo champs after a win against Athens on Friday night. Maroa continues to get big performances from Maurer as he threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 101 yards and two more touchdowns. See the highlights of the 38-36 win HERE.

Amber Ehrlich and Simmi Mander (Glenwood Girls Tennis) Titans take fourth! Glenwood’s doubles team took the win at sectionals last week and finished fourth at state this weekend. They won their first three matches to move into the final four before falling to Chicago Latin. Glenwood took 9th as a team at State.

Parker Boatman (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Soccer) The Cyclones will face Althoff in a 1A Super Sectional rematch after winning the North Mac sectional on Saturday. Boatman followed up last weeks hat trick with another to lead SHG to a 5-2 win against Williamsville in the championship. Check out the highlights HERE.

Hailee Daigh (Mt Pulaski Volleyball) Mt Pulaski picked up a big win last week as they prepare for the postseason. The senior had a team best 21 assists in the 25-16, 25-22 win against Williamsville. You can see the highlights HERE.

Landon Kutscher (Rochester Boys Soccer) The Rockets will play in a sectional semifinal this week after a big win in penalty kicks against Springfield High in the regional final. After a stop by Aidan Hughes on the Senators seventh PK attempt Kutscher converted to give Rochester the win. See some of the first half highlights of the game HERE.

Nic Olson (Olympia Football) The Spartans clinched their first playoff spot since 2014 with a win over PORTA on Friday. Olson was a big rushing threat for Olympia in the game with 94 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Check out some of the highlights HERE.

Erin Turk (Glenwood Girls Swimming) Glenwood won the CS8 conference meet on Saturday at Eisenhower Pool. The sophomore helped lead the Titians to the win with a victory in the 100 freestyle (56.37) and she anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:44.62) and the 400 freestyle relay (4:17.78) for Glenwood.

Kaitlyn Lee (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Cross Country) The Cyclones won the girls regional title in Petersburg on Saturday as they advance to the Elmwood sectional this weekend. The senior lead SHG with a fourth place finish with a time of 19:38.6. See the highlights from the girls race HERE.
