Isabel Tom (Rochester Girls Golf) The Rockets were a part of the Okaw Valley regional on Thursday and brought home a regional title. Tom led the team with an 84 and medalist honors.
Kyle Ward (Sacred Heart Griffin Soccer) The Cyclones celebrated senior night with a CS8 victory over U-High. Ward had two goals in the first half of the 3-0 win. Complete highlights of the SHG win HERE.
Britni Walters (Williamsville Volleyball) The Williamsville Bullets did something Tuesday night that no one has done in a Sangamo conference game since 2017… they beat Pleasant Plains. The win come in three sets, 25-23, 14-25, 25-20. Walters had 17 kills in the victory as they enter this week 5-0 in conference play. See how Williamsville got the win HERE.
Bradyn Sayarath (Glenwood Boys Golf) The Titans are regional champs as they won the 2A Taylorville regional with a score of 314. Sayarath picked up medalist honors with a 76 on the day.
Zayn Giles (Maroa Forsyth Football) The Trojans picked up a homecoming victory Friday night against Olympia. They won 42-20 as Giles had a big night with three receiving touchdowns. Highlights of the victory HERE.
Lauren Buxton (Pleasant Plains Volleyball) The Cardinals had a busy week that started with winning the county championship over Athens and finished with handing PORTA their first loss in conference play. Buxton had nine kills in the county championship and nine more with two blocks against PORTA. She also had nine kills and seven blocks in the three set loss to Williamsville. Catalina Easley (Athens Girls Golf) Easley picked up medalist honors at the 1A Camp Point regional on Thursday. She finished with a 75 which was six shots ahead of the second place finisher.
Cameron Frye (Williamsville Boys Soccer) The Bullets are Sangamo Conference champs! Williamsville secured the undefeated conference championship with a victory over Athens. In that win Frye led the team with four goals and one assist.
Brylan McHood-Jones (MacArthur Football) MacArthur hosted Springfield High in a week six CS8 matchup on Friday night and scored on the final play for the victory. The winning play came as McHood-Jones found Jamor Singleton for a 16 yard TD to claim the 34-28 win. McHood finished the night with three touchdowns. See that game winner and more HERE.
Skyler Musgrove (PORTA Boys Golf) The PORTA Bluejays follow up a conference championship last week with a regional championship on Wednesday. They won the 1A Jacksonville Routt Regional with a score of 329. Musgrove led the team with an individual score of 80.
Reya Corley (Maroa Forsyth Volleyball) Maroa Forsyth joins Williamsville as the only unbeaten team in the Sangamo after a three set victory over Auburn on Thursday. Corley came up big for the Trojans with 17 assists in the 25-20, 22-25, 25-16 win. We have the highlights of the win HERE.
Danny Skelton (Pleasant Plains Football) The Pleasant Plains Cardinals have won two in a row as they picked up a 43-12 homecoming victory against Pittsfield on Friday night. Skelton had 122 passing yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 165 yards and two more touchdowns.
Inhera Gerongay (UHigh Girls Golf) It was the girls turn to compete for the CS8 conference title on Monday at Bunn Golf Course. Gerongay earned medalist honors with a 78 on the day. She also led the Pioneers to a conference title with a team score 318. Highlights of the conference meet HERE.
