Trinity In Taylorville Prime Time Performer: October 18-23

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

Alexa Hamilton (Glenwood Volleyball) We had another career milestone in volleyball this week. Hamilton reached 1000 career assists as the Titans get ready for regionals this week.

Ethan Sommers (Springfield High Cross Country) The Senators followed up last week’s conference championship with a regional championship in Jacksonville. Sommers lead the team with a 4th place finish with a time of 15:41.35.

Tyler Pool (Jacksonville Soccer) Crimson’s are regional champs! Jacksonville and Springfield played through regulation and two overtime periods before the Crimsons picked up the win in PKs, 3-4. Pool was solid in the goal all night for the Crimsons and has a big piece to the team all season.

Lily Barry (U-High Volleyball) The Pioneers locked up the Central State Eight title with a three set victory over Rochester. The U of I commit was essential for U-High in the victory throughout the night.

Josh Klenke (Sacred Heart Griffin Soccer) The Cyclones are making a trip to a super sectional after a victory over Beardstown for the sectional championship on Saturday. Klenke had a goal with 44.5 seconds left in the first overtime to put the Cyclones up 1-0.

Louisa Wilson (Williamsville Cross Country) The Williamsville freshman won the girls conference race a couple weeks ago and also picked up first at the Farmington regional on Saturday. Her time was 18:24.2 as the Lady Bullets brought home the regional title.

Elijah Owens (Jacksonville Football) The Crimson’s punched their ticket to the playoffs with a win over MacArthur on Friday. Owens had 109 yards passings and 177 yards rushing with two touchdowns in the 23-20 victory.

Nia Gibson (Glenwood Cross Country) The Titans brought home a regional title at the Jacksonville regional. Gibson lead the team with a third place finish and a time of 18:00.36.

Vivian Rahmel (Sacred Heart Griffin Cross Country) SHG traveled to the Liberty regional on Saturday and brought home a regional title. Rahmel finished first with a time of 19:15.95 to lead the team.

Brayden Trello (Rochester Soccer) Claiming a regional championship on your field is pretty special and that Rockets did that on Friday night. Rochester and Glenwood were tied at 1 before the game winning goal from Trello with 14:45 left in the game.

Isabella Cavanagh (Springfield High Swimming) Springfield High claimed the City Swim title last Tuesday at Eisenhower Pool. Cavanagh took home two individual victories with a time of 2:23.38 in the 200 yard IM and a time of 1:14.42 in the 100 yard breaststroke. She was also a part of the 200 yard medley relay and 200 yard freestyle relay who both finished first.

Will Gordon (Athens Football) The Warriors picked up another big conference victory over North Mac on Friday. Gordon had 143 passing yards with two passing touchdowns including the game winning touchdown to Connor Braezeale with 12 seconds left in the game for the 39-34 victory.
