Athens, who are 5-1 in conference play, hosted the 5-0 Pleasant Plains Cardinals in a big Sangamo matchup on Thursday night. The Cardinals picked up the victory in two sets, 25-13 and 25-16. Peyton Bergschneider lead Pleasant Plains with 10 kills. Kylee Garrett picked up 10 digs and Hannah Smith had 24 assists. Becky Barrett had 11 digs for the Warriors. The Cardinals will host the other Sangamo unbeaten, Maroa Forsyth, on Monday.
