Kauffman takes CS8 Individual Boys Golf Title


 

Jacksonville’s Brady Kauffman won the individual CS8 boys golf title on Wednesday when he shot a 75 overall around a Piper Glen course, battling tough course conditions and wind.

 

Peyton Woods (SHS) finished second with a 78, Jake Baldin (SHS) and Andrew Woodward (U-High) tied for third with 79’s, Carter Etheridge (SHG) was fifth with an 80, Parker Newton (U-High) was sixth with an 81, Jake Swartz (U-High) was seventh with an 83, Nick Manning (U-High) and Cal Johnson (SHG) tied for eighth with 84’s, and Jake Herrin (Chatham) was tenth with an 85.

Normal took the team title with a 327, Springfield was second with a 339, SHG was third with a 342, Jacksonville was fourth with a 350, Glenwood was fifth with a 356, and Rochester was sixth with a 421. Lanphier’s Lucas Weller shot a 93 and Decatur MacArthur’s Eli Sorenson shot a 106 as their school’s only representatives.
