The pitching was excellent, the hitting was timely and the Tri-City Tornadoes seemed to put it all together with a 7-1 win over Sacred Heart Griffin to claim the 2A sectional championship at Comstock Field on Thursday. Kelsey Bruno pitched 5 + innings for the Tornadoes, giving up just one run and Daleny Chumbley shut the door with the final six outs. Tri-City Sangamon Valley scored one run in the second on a Bruno RBI and then scored four in the third to take a commanding lead. TCSV will play Rockridge on Monday in the 2A Peoria supersectional.
