Trinity In Taylorville Prime Time Performer: March 8-13

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Quincenia Jackson (MacArthur Basketball) The Generals won the CS8 tournament on Saturday over SHG. In the championship, she had a double double with 20 points and 20 rebounds. That was her second double double of the week, in the quarterfinals Jackson scored 20 points and had 11 rebounds against UHigh. Against Springfield High in the semifinals she added 10 points in the victory.

Nate Reed (Glenwood Swimming) The Glenwood Titans went undefeated this season. In their final meet on Saturday senior Nate Reed help lead his team to a first place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay. He finished second in the 100 yard freestyle and third in the 50 yard freestyle. He was also a part of the Titans second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay.

Jillian Hulcher (SHG Basketball) The senior had multiple double digit performances this week during the CS8 Tournament. Against Southeast on Tuesday she had 16 points and went 8 for 13 from the free throw line. On Friday versus Lanphier she had 14 points while picking up 5 rebounds.

KJ Debrick (Lanphier Basketball) The Lions stayed undefeated in conference action in the regular season and followed that up with a CS8 Tournament Championship on Saturday. Debrick had the game winner against MacArthur in the title game. He scored 14 points, had 11 rebounds, and 8 blocks in the victory. Against Jacksonville earlier in the week he had 11 points and 8 rebounds. Friday night he had 14 points and 13 rebounds as well as 6 blocks against Springfield.

Bailey Wallbaum (PORTA Basketball) The Lady Jays wrapped up an undefeated season as well as the conference title last Thursday. Senior Wallbaum scored 15 points against Maroa Forsyth but she’s also a big part of their defense coming away with multiple steals to help propel PORTA in the win.

Brylan Phillips (MacArthur Basketball) The Generals took Lanphier to the limit Saturday night in the CS8 Tournament Championship. Phillips was a big part of that scoring 25 points despite the loss. He also had 15 points in the semifinal game at home versus Sacred Heart Griffin.

Tanner Wilson (North Mac Basketball) The senior was named the Bill Pool Memorial Tournament MVP at Waverly this weekend as the Panthers finished second. Throughout the tournament he scored a total of 102 points including 31 in the the semifinal against Athens.

Connor Breazeale (Athens Basketball) Breazeale was named to the Waverly All-Tournament team Saturday as the Warriors picked up a fourth place finish. He finished in fifth in overall scoring in the tournament with 59 points including 20 in the semifinal against North Mac.

Niko Hubbell (SHG Soccer) The Cyclones started their season this week with a win over Pleasant Plains on Thursday. The senior scored a goal just 80 seconds into the game and contributed throughout with assists in the 5-0 victory. SHG kicks off CS8 play Tuesday at Rochester.

Jack Hart (Rochester Soccer) The Rockets picked up a 4-0 win on Thursday over Beardstown. Senior Hart had three goals in the victory as Rochester prepares to take on SHG at home this Tuesday.
