Isabel Hudspeth (PORTA Basketball) The Bluejays stayed unbeaten this season as they picked up a few more wins last week. On Thursday, Hudspeth lead PORTA with 28 points in the 56-29 win over Illini Central. She also had 15 points on Monday against Auburn.

Levi Vorreyer (Glenwood Swimming) The Glenwood senior celebrated senior night last Monday and continues to pick up wins to add to his impressive high school career. The IUPUI commit helped the Titans in their victories over Jacksonville and UHigh last week.

Emily Brenneisen (SHG Basketball) SHG stays undefeated and is first in the CS8 standing after a victory over MacArthur on Saturday. Brenneisen lead the team with 15 points with 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter in the 48-32 win. She was also huge on defense trying to slow down Q Jackson for the Generals. The senior also added 7 points in the Cyclones win over U-High on Tuesday.

Asya Smith (Pleasant Plains Basketball) On senior night Smith lead the Cardinals with 17 points in a 43-24 win over Athens. Twelve of the 17 points came in the first half while she also had 8 steals. Smith is one of the best scorers on any level this season and does a little bit of everything on the floor in her final campaign as a Cardinal.

Quincenia Jackson (MacArthur Basketball) MacArthur hosted Lanphier Tuesday where Jackson continued to dominate with 27 points and 17 rebounds in the win. “Q” was the focal point of the Cyclone defense on Friday night after she helped the Generals beat Springfield High on Friday night.

James Dent (Southeast Basketball) The senior helped power the Spartans past SHG Friday with 23 points including two free throws with 3.7 left for the 64-62 win. He followed up that performance with 20 points in an overtime victory over Jacksonville on Saturday. Dent joined the 1000 career point club on Saturday at the Bowl.

Michael Ousley (Lanphier Basketball) Lanphier survived a comeback from UHigh Saturday night on the road for a 48-45 win. Ousley had 12 points including the lone Lanphier three in the game. The Lions stay undefeated in conference play heading into the last week before the CS8 tournament. Ousley seems to always find a way to grab a few offensive boards when they need it and be an excellent scoring option outside of KJ and Tye.

Kaleah Toran (Springfield High Basketball) The Senator junior had a career high 26 points in a comeback 51-44 win over Rochester last week. She added 7 rebounds against Rochester and scored a game high 19 points in a loss to Glenwood on Saturday.

Justin Guernsey (Pleasant Plains Basketball) In a victory over Illini Central on Friday, Guernsey scored 27 points including four threes and went 5 for 5 on free throws.

Brylan Phillips (MacArthur Basketball) MacArthur picked up a huge home win over SHG on Saturday. Phillips scored 22 points for the Generals as the guard continues to get more comfortable in the blue and grey, watch out for Phillips to be an excellent facilitator in that offense.
