Looking ahead to next Tuesday, it was possible that Lanphier would host MacArthur as the final two unbeaten teams in the Central State Eight. Southeast spoiled that plan by beating the Generals 48-44 on Friday night at Scheffler Gymnasium. James Dent scored 22 points for the Spartans, who only scored 1 point in the second quarter, but then held MacArthur to just two points in the third quarter. Nick Spannaus led the Generals with 15 points. MacArthur travels to Lanphier on Tuesday, Southeast hosts Eisenhower.
