The Pleasant Plains Cardinals played their first game since winning the 2A state title last March on Thursday evening and picked up a 49-39 win over Williamsville. Asya Smith had 18 points for the Cardinals while sophomore Megan Derrick added 16. Williamsville, with no seniors on the roster, cut the double digit lead down to just five with just under three to play. Maddie Roberts had 16 points for the Bullets, while freshman Char Gleason added 12.
