After a very sluggish start the Normal U-High Pioneers turned up the intensity to pull away from a pesky Springfield squad, 53-47.
With the win U-High maintains their one game lead over Lanphier for the Central State 8 lead. The Senators jumped out early, pushing the lead to as high as eight in the first half by dominating the paint and the glass, taking a 30-24 lead into halftime.
U-High would score the first seven points of the second half thanks to seniors Drew Wollenschlager and Alex Wood who both scored 15 each and would take the lead and the Pioneer defense would help U-High keep the lead as they held the Senators to one basket and four free throws in the 4th quarter.
