West Central led by double digits but Cory Ronan and the Rockets never panicked. Routt had a chance to tie with just over a minute to play and had a three go off the backboard at the buzzer, but the Cougars survived for a 59-56 win in the Waverly Holiday Tournament championship. Gabe Cox was named tournament MVP and Cole Howard had 20 points in the championship game and made first team all tournament as well.
