Last Second Shot Doesn’t Drop For Lanphier In Pekin Title Game

Lanphier’s bid to win their fifth Pekin Holiday Tournament Title this decade came up painfully short as the Lions had two shots late to take the lead but fall to top seeded Roselle Lake Park, 56-55.

TJ Price lead Lanphier with 15 points while tournament MVP Michael Ousley added 13 for the Lions. Luke Sgarbossa lead all scorers with 29 for Lake Park as he caught fire in the second quarter to help the Lancers erase a Lanphier 8 point lead and the hot shooting continued in the second half to give Lake Park enough cushion to hold on and win the title.

Lanphier was looking to gain their Pekin Tournament leading 7th title overall in the tourney but will have to settle for 2nd place for the fifth time in the Lions Pekin Tourney history.
