Rochester silenced any questions about whether or not the Rockets could handle the bump to 5A. A 42-7 lead over St. Rita resulted in a 42-28 victory over the Mustangs to win the 5A state championship on Saturday.
Clay Bruno and Hank Beatty put on a show in the first half, while the Rochester defense delivered when they needed to. The win gives Derek Leonard and Rochester eight state championships in the last ten seasons.
