Athens watched the first set against Norris City on Saturday morning slip through their fingers, as a 24-22 lead ended up being a 26-24 Cardinals set win, but the Warriors didn’t panic. Athens leaned on their seniors and Caroline Lendy, Adrien Barrett, Sophie Chavis and Morghan Kerwin took it from there. The Warriors went on to win the final two sets 25-16, 25-9 to capture third at state in 1A for the best finish in school history.
