Logan Shepard hit a walk off RBI double to give the Illinois Rifles an 11-10 win over the Illinois Nationals in the championship game of the second annual Midwest College Showcase baseball tournament for 18u teams on Sunday afternoon.
Sergio Marchizza and Evan Rightnowar helped the Nationals take a 10-5 lead in the fifth inning but the Rifles chipped away and tied it on a Jake Jurgens two run double in the sixth before Shepard walked it off with the double to center field to score the game winner.
