Cam Edmonson settled in after giving up a first inning solo home run to Bubba Motte and picked up a win on the mound as Rochester beat U-High 2-1 on Tuesday in the battle of the top two teams in the Central State Eight.
David Yoggerst laid down a bunt in the fourth inning that scored two runs on a throwing error from the Pioneers and that proved to be all the Rockets needed. Drew Lenz got four outs for the save, including a bases loaded pop up in the sixth inning.
Rochester will travel to U-High on Wednesday night for game two of the series.
