Joel Niermann got it done on the both ends of the floor in the final minute to send his team to the sectional championship. Niermann came up with a huge block with 30 seconds to play and then hit the game winning free throw with 6.9 seconds left to give Pleasant Plains a 39-38 win over West Hancock in the 2A Riverton sectional semifinal.
Peyton Dooley had a good look at a three at the buzzer that would have won it for the Titans but it was off the back iron.
Pleasant Plains will play Tremont on Friday night at 7 p.m. for the 2A Riverton sectional championship and a trip to UIS on Monday for the super sectional.
