Springfield High took a 19 point lead over Lanphier midway through the third quarter, and it appeared the Senators would cruise to 2-0 at City ahead of Saturday’s showdown with 2-0 SHG. No one told Martrice Brooks that. The Lanphier guard went off in the second half, scoring a game-high 27 points to bring Lanphier within 5 midway through the fourth, but Abby Ratsch was too much down low. The senior forward had 19 points and 20 rebounds to help Springfield High hold on for a 57-48 win to move to 2-0 heading into Saturday’s championship.
