Springfield High Slows The Pace, But Southeast Still Wins The Race

Springfield High had an eight point lead with with 5 minutes to go in the third quarter. The Senators scored just two points in the fourth quarter while Southeast ran away with another City win, this one 55-40 on night two of the 2019 City boys basketball tournament.

Terrion Murdix scored 30 points including 11 of 12 from the free throw line, while playing just 25 minutes after missing seven minutes of the second quarter with foul trouble.

Bennie Slater had 14 points for the Senators and Zaire Harris added eight, but the Senators upset bid fell short. Southeast will play SHG for the City title on Friday night, while Springfield High looks to finish 2-1 by taking on Lanphier in the opener on Friday evening at the Bank of Springfield Center.
