East St.Louis controlled the tempo from the start of the game against Lanphier as they took a 21-14 lead after the first quarter. The Flyers went on a 8-0 run to start the 2nd quarter and overall outscored the Lions 21-7 in the second period. They took a 42-21 lead into the half. Turnovers hurt the Lions in the second half as the Flyers dominated the third and fourth quarters. East St.Louis defeated Lanphier 71-47 to move onto the Abe’s Roundball Classic championship game against Curie Saturday at 8 pm.
