Iowa State bound Jirehl Brock scored two touchdowns, one from 73 yards out to start the second half. Other than those two big runs, the SHG defense bottled up Brock to help the Cyclones beat Quincy 34-14 and advance to round two of the IHSA 6A playoffs.
Cade Holloway kicked two field goals for SHG and scored on a Sam Sweetland pass in the second quarter. Alex Sweetland scored two rushing touchdowns and his brother, Sam Sweetland scored on a QB sneak from the four yard line to power the SHG offense.
The Cyclones will travel to play Washington in Round Two next Saturday.
