Battle At The Boyd Brings Out Two Of The State’s Top Ranked Teams For Sangamo Lead

Williamsville and Maroa-Forsyth are both averaging over 40 points a game through the first 1/3 of the Sangamo season. This week, both put their undefeated records on the line for a spot alone atop the conference standings.

Maroa-Forsyth is ranked #1 in Class 2A and has been all season after back to back state runner up finishes in 2016 and 2017.

The Trojans only other two losses during those years? The Williamsville Bullets, who enter with the #2 ranking in Class 3A and as the reigning Sangamo champions after running the table last year to finish 9-0 and advance to the 3A quarterfinals.

We spoke with head coaches Aaron Kunz and Josh Jostes, as well as players Peyton Knowski, Keegan McGann and Ty Martin to talk about the matchup and what to expect in Week 4 at the Boyd on Friday evening.
