Glenwood felt good about getting two runs in the first inning against Mt. Zion in Wednesday’s 3A Decatur MacArthur sectional semifinal. After a seven-run second, they had all but earned a trip to Saturday’s title game against Rochester.
The Titans beat Mt. Zion 12 to 2 on Wednesday behind five strong innings from sophomore starting pitcher Drew Detmers. It leaves the Titans with ace Jacob Maton and Gavin Wahlbrink fully ready for Saturday’s title game. Rochester will likely throw Drew Henrikson after no. 1 starter Cam Edmonson struck out 14 over six innings in Wednesday’s other semifinal.
