Double McTrouble: McGee & McMath Save The Day For Lions in Comeback Win Over Champaign Central

WOW. Amid all the talk, all the hype, what the people really wanted was a good basketball game, and these two delivered. Despite Champaign Central being the first half aggressor, leading 34-23 at halftime, the Lions came storming back to force OT, then a second OT, only to finally win it 71-69 with a pair of Herb McMath free throws with 2 seconds left on the clock.

Down five with 26 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Cardell McGee hit a three to get it within two, then following a Karl Wright block took it the other end and finished a layup to tie the game with just five seconds left to force OT.

McGee finished with 16 points and 10 assists, McMath had a team-high 20 points.
