Alton Marquette came out firing against Pleasant Plains, but the Cardinals handled an opening barrage of three pointers and responded with many many more. After a 10-9 first quarter lead for the Cardinals, they opened up a seven point lead after the second, then blew the game open to a 35-15 lead after three, ultimately coming away with a 45-23 win.
Ali Fraase and Anna Kannlakan finished with 10 apiece for the Cardinals while Asya Smith did a little bit of everything, finishing with a stat line of 5 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Pleasant Plains will play Auburn for the Riverton Sectional Championship Thursday night.
