Drayton Davis went for a game high 22 points and Nick Laird added 17, including four very important free throws in the final seconds after New Berlin had turned a 16 point deficit into a tie game, in the semifinals of the Waverly Holiday Tournament on Thursday. The Warriors hung on for a 60-56 win, avenging last year’s loss to the Pretzels in the Waverly championship game.
Athens will play West Central in Friday’s championship game at 6:30.
