Leah Johnson took over the Illinois State volleyball program in the summer of 2017 and when she got to campus, it didn’t take her long to realize what she had in senior middle hitter Jaelyn Keene (Jacksonville) and junior libero Courtney Pence (Springfield High). The Resbirds are the No. 3 seed in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament that they’ll host this week and it gave us a chance to ask her about the two Springfield area standouts.
