Lincoln Opens Season With A New Look And A Win Over Centennial

Those coming to see the typical Lincoln style of basketball might be a little surprised this season. A 6’8″ junior named Jermaine Hamlin brings a post presence to Neil Alexander’s team that provides another exciting option. Hamlin had nine points, at least four blocks and one emphatic dunk to spark Lincoln to a 51-42 win over Centennial in Monday’s season opener.

Seniors Ben Grunder and Isaiah Bowers led the way in scoring for Lincoln with 16 and 14 respectively.

The Railsplitters will play Cahokia at 7:30 on Wednesday night, Mahomet-Seymour at 8 p.m. on Friday night, Danville at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Bartonville Limestone at 8 p.m. to close out the Eaton Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday evening.
