Pleasant Plains Pounds Their Way To History! Cardinals Cruise Into 3A State Championship With Win Over Anna-Jonesboro


 

Nik Samson had three touchdowns and 152 yards in the first half as the Cardinals set the tone early. Pleasant Plains beat Anna-Jonesboro 41-2 in the 3A state semifinal to advance to the championship game for the first time in school history.

Lucas Western added two second half touchdowns and Nick Sunley had a pick six to lead the Cardinals defense that didn’t allow a single score.

Plains will play Elmhurst IC Catholic on Friday at 4 p.m. at Huskie Stadium in Dekalb for the 3A state championship.
