Athens started the game just about as good as you possibly can, as Drayton Davis took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. From there it was all Tuscola, as they scored 21 unanswered. Athens responded with a Charles Molitoris touchdown to cut it to 21-14 with 4 minutes left in the game, but couldn’t get a stop on defense as Tuscola advanced to the 1A State Championship, ending Athens season.
