Baker’s “Bad Game” – Rockets Quarterback Throws Interception, Posts Six Touchdown Performance In Win Over Althoff

Saturday was a night of firsts for Rochester. Belleville Althoff scored on the opening possession of the third quarter to take a 23-21 lead in Saturday’s 4A second round playoff matchup at Rocket Booster Stadium. That marked the first time this season that Rochester trailed in a game this year. Nic Baker threw his first interception of the season. He also had a turnover for a fumble which marked the first fumble for a loss for the Rockets offense this year. AND… the Rockets overcame it all to beat the Crusaders 41-23.

Baker completed 18-of-25 passes for 336 yards and two touchdowns while rushing four for more scores. The senior described his own performance as a “bad game” during his post game interview. Jayden Reed racked up 109 receiving yards and caught both of Baker’s touchdown passes.

Rochester will host Herrin next Saturday in the 4A quarterfinals.
