MacArthur overcame an early two score deficit to take a 34-27 lead into the final minute of Saturday’s 5A first round matchup with Peoria Notre Dame. The Irish would score to pull to within 34-33 but their two point conversion attempt that would have given them the lead, and likely the win, never had a chance. A miscommunication in the backfield sent the Generals to the second round where they’ll face Washington (8-2).
