Super-Sectional Bound Cyclones Survive Overtime Thriller Against Beardstown


 

In a game that saw two red cards, late goals and spectacular saves, the SHG Cyclones found a way to advance. SHG beats Beardstown 3-2 in overtime to win the 1A Macon sectional championship and advance to the 1A Raymond super sectional on Tuesday evening where they will play Alton Marquette at 6:30 p.m. for a spot in the state tournament next weekend.

Patrick Hoyle scored the first goal for SHG, but ti was the sophomore Matt Ray who stepped up and scored two goals in overtime to power the Cyclones on Saturday. Beardstown got goals from Yevin Ortiz and Ray Molina.
