Auburn needed over 40 minutes to get its first lead of the game but the Trojans not only got the lead, they got a key road win over a pesky PORTA squad, 18-12. Auburn quarterback Destin Chance ran and threw for a touchdown and running back Cayden Muench got the game winning 4 yard TD run to give Auburn the lead for good midway through the 4th quarter. PORTA had many chances to put a severe dent in Auburn’s playoff chances but despite the Blue Jays dominating time of possession they also had two touchdowns called back due to penalties and another fumble lost inside the Auburn 5. Auburn goes to 4-3 overall and will travel next week to battle powerhouse Maroa-Forsyth.
