Normal U-High got a rude introduction to the Central State 8 as the host Springfield Senators scored all 42 points in the first half to cruise to a 42-21 win. Sophomore Taryn Wallace scored three touchdowns for the Senators (2 running and 1 receiving) to lead Springfield on offense while the Senators defense intercepted three Pioneer passes, including one that was returned for a touchdown by Peyton West. Springfield goes to 1-0 on the season and travels to Jacksonville next Friday while U-High falls to 0-1 as they play their first home game as a member of the CS8 next Friday against Decatur Eisenhower.
