What a week for the Glenwood baseball program. Phil Maton made his MLB debut with the Padres on June 11, his brother, Nick got drafted in the seventh round of the MLB Draft by the Phillies on Tuesday. Reid Detmers was selected in the 32 round by the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday and Connor Law signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Toronto Blue Jays out of Lindenwood. Ben Hecht, formerly of St. Anthony’s in Effingham and Lincoln Land was also drafted in the 12 round by the Cubs.
We also preview the Do or Die Bowl (Facebook Live Video Above), which takes place on Friday, June 23 at SHG’s West Campus. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. All of our coverage throughout the week will be provided by the Springfield Park District.
