Plains Takes Sangamo Conference Lead After 11 Inning Thriller At Maroa-Forsyth

Sep Mattera and Braden Willoughby both threw absolute gems allowing just one run apiece through seven innings. Pleasant Plains and Maroa-Forsyth needed 11 innings to decide a winner as the Cardinals scored on a throwing error in the top of the 11th to escape with a 2-1 win over the Trojans.

Bryant Williams got the win on the mound, Corgan Greer got a RBI for the Cardinals, while Logan Shepard singled in the only run for the Trojans.

Pleasant Plains handed Maroa their second Sangamo loss, now the Cardinals have to beat North Mac and PORTA later this week to win the conference title outright.
